The journey of the SocketSense project through prestigious conferences and conventions continues. The next stop is the 24th Euromicro DSD/SEAA conference in Palermo this upcoming September (from the 1st to the 3rd) on Digital System Design (DSD). Since 1973, the Euromicro international organisation focuses on engineering, science, and education, aiming to advance the sectors of arts and sciences by effectively applying microelectronics and information technologies.
More specifically, the said conference has accepted our SocketSense paper entitled “Evaluation of Time Series Clustering on Embedded Sensor Platform”. The paper will be presented by KTH, the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden and will spread the word on the progressive technological research and testing behind SocketSense.
The paper is about the evaluation of the sensor data clustering on edge. A study case related to the SocketSense setup is presented and four clustering models (K-means and Self-Organizing Map, together with Euclidean metric and Dynamic Time Warping) are evaluated on accuracy and execution time. The performance gathered supports that it is feasible to deploy the time series clustering model on the embedded sensor platform.
